Hooray #OOTD Valentines Edition
Welcome to the first of many Hooray Hayley Outfit of the Day posts, that will be part of the series Hooray #OOTD. I was super excited to get this blog live in time for Valentine's day, mainly because I am all about the colours of the holiday. I love all hues of pink and I really enjoy bright bold colours. I wanted to share with you how I styled my Valentine's #OOTD and hopefully through this series I can help you out with tips and tricks for adding colour with your wardrobe! I know for a lot of people experimenting with colour, prints and pattern all at once would be a bit much, but with a little bit of thought, it's really quite easy to create outfits that give you confidence and radiate with personality.
I think the secret to getting the balance right when combining loud and proud colours is to mix and match with pattern, print and block colour. I have chosen two repeat print items, the blouse with lips and the polka dot shoes and given them breathing room. Introducing white as a base lets this outfit sing. It is still bright and fun, yet isn't too overpowering. It also helps to play with scale, the lips are smaller than the polka dots, and in turn the block colours are of different size, complimenting each other rather than competing. I've even continued the look into my makeup, with pink eye shadow complimenting a red lip.
